Gregory Grossman

A visitation for Greg Grossman of Morris will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 1-3 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Following the visitation, burial will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Chokio. If you prefer to not attend the burial service in Chokio the family invites you to join them at the Morris American Legion to have a light lunch and share stories of Greg.

Gregory Allen Grossman was born June 5, 1951 in Morris, Minnesota. He was the son of Donald and Shirley (Pashen) Grossman. Greg grew up on the family farm south of Chokio, MN. He attended school in Chokio, graduating from Chokio-Alberta High School in 1969. Greg would then attend St. Cloud State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in June of 1973. After college, Greg would begin his lifelong career in the insurance business, eventually expanding into estate planning. Greg's career would take him to North Dakota, Minnesota, California and eventually back to Morris where he was still running his business at the time of his death. Greg loved helping and working with people. He was never short on words, would greet you with a smile, and could talk your leg off. Family and his partner of 20 years Cathy meant the world to him; he was always there when someone needed something. His presence back in Morris was especially helpful to his Mom and Dad during the last years of their lives.

Greg died on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the age of 74 at Essentia Health in Fargo, due to complications from West Nile virus.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kimberly Grossman-Elskoe; brothers and sisters: Vivinette Grossman, Steve (Lori) Grossman, John Grossman, Mary (Larry) Friesen; partner and best friend, Cathy Lewis; grandchildren: Cassondra Houle-Larogue, Natosha Estrella, Auston Houle, Lukes Houle, Landon Houle, and Serinitee Elskoe; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Grossman (infant son of Don and Shirley), and Richard Grossman; sister-in-law, Barb Grossman, sister, Nancy Grossman; grandchild, Chad Houle Jr.; great-grandchild, Braxton Enno; and nephew, Travis Jorgenson.

The Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in care of the arrangements for Gregory.
