Harold Kenneth Kjeldahl, son of Silas and Ella (Fauskee) Kjeldahl, was born November 1, 1926, rural Brooten, MN. He was united in marriage on November 19, 1949, to Margaret Iverson in Barrett, MN. Following their marriage, they made their home in Cyrus, MN where they raised their three children.
Harold worked at many jobs over the years. At the age of 14, he made his first trip from rural Morris to South St. Paul with a load of livestock for Jesness Trucking. He had his own trucking company as well. He was a member of the local 49ers Union and worked many years at road construction throughout many areas within Minnesota. Having a small farm south of Cyrus he worked countless week-end hours growing and selling potatoes. Upon his retirement from road work, he continued to work side by side with Margaret on her mail route. He was a member of Scandia Lutheran Free Church and Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus, MN. He was co-founder of the West Central Snowmobile club. He loved to be snowmobiling locally, trips to South Dakota and Wyoming. He enjoyed visiting friends he had made through his many years of road construction, community members and relatives. He shared countless prayer shawls to all he visited with that could use comfort.
