Memorial services will be held in the spring of 2026, Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in care of the arrangements for Helen.
Helen Marie Lemen was born on December 24, 1925, to parents Dan and Jessie (Moyer) Moser, on a farm North of Morris.
She attended a country school house and graduated from Morris High School in 1944. She was married to Charles Hockert on May 19, 1948, and they had seven children: Dan (Linda), Gail (Chuck), Charles, Patricia, Tim (Bridget), Mike, and Tom (Brenda). After the death of her husband in 1979, she married James Lemen in 1986. They lived in Mission, Texas and after his death, she moved to McAllen, TX, where she lived independently for several years. Helen moved back to Morris in 2021 to be closer to family. She died peacefully while holding her granddaughter, Amy’s hand, in Eden Prairie on December 30, 2025, a few days after celebrating her 100th birthday.
After her children got older, Helen worked at Fingerhut in Quality Control and later as a Dispatcher for the Morris Police Dept. Helen did volunteer work as a publicity chair for the American Red Cross and worked with Service to Military Families. She was one of the founding members of the VFW Auxiliary, Catholic Guild, and American Legion.
Helen was very active and enjoyed fishing, bowling, dancing, golf, and bridge. In her later years, she enjoyed watching the Timberwolves and the Vikings with her family. She doted on her grandchildren, Amy, Daniel, Luke, Lindsey, Jeremy, Nicole, Jared, Trevor, and Tanner as well many great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
