Kimmarie Johnson was born on December 5, 1959 in Marshall, Minnesota to Norman and Alice (Ouverson) Tesch. Kimmarie was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in Marshall, graduating from Marshall High School. Kim resided most of her life in the Marshall area. While at her dear friend, Diane Johnson’s home she met Michael Plocker. They two began dating and in 1992, Mike moved to Marshall to live with her and her three children. In 2001, Mike and Kim made the move to Morris.
Kim was always known for her upbeat, high spirit, and positive attitude. In her life, she was faced with health concerns that led to over 40 surgeries. During her times in the hospital and during recovery, she always had a smile on her face and was eager to welcome her friends and family with a “Hi Friend” and great conversation. She always gave the advice to “Live your Life,” which is what she lived by as well.
Kim enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, watching classic TV shows – I Love Lucy being a favorite, playing bingo and the occasional trip to the casino. She was also always ready for a night dining out, especially if it was to the Minnewaska House for all you can eat crab legs where she would almost eat her weight in crab legs and leaving others wondering where she put it all! She and Mike enjoyed their winters on the ice in their “Lake Home” – the fish house they built together, ice fishing.
For 29 years, Mike and Kim shared a life of love. They had their ups and downs as any couple does, but they were partners. In each other, they found the one made for them. They continued to spend three decades together raising their blended family, celebrating life’s milestones, and supporting each other through the trials of life. Mike was always there for Kim and in the end, was her nurse to care for her in her final days.
Kimmarie died peacefully on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family; she was 61 years old.
Kimmarie is survived by her life parter, Mike Plocker of Morris; her children: Damen Tesch of Humbolt, CA, Brooke Eng of Watertown, SD, Valarie Plocker of Alexandria, and Alex Plocker of Fargo, ND; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim “Jimbo” (Pam) Tesch of Lafayette, IN; and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, John Beckley; great-grandson, Keenan Maxwell; sister, Connie Towne, and Brother Orland Tesch.
