Marjorie A Farnick

A funeral service for Marjorie Farnick of Monticello, MN, formerly of Morris, MN, and Casa Grande, AZ, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Kongsvinger Cemetery, rural Donnelly.

Marjorie Ann Kolden was born on January 2, 1940 in Morris, Minnesota the daughter of Helmer and Fern (Johnson) Kolden. She grew up in Morris until age 16 when she moved to the Twin Cities. She attended beauty school in the Twin Cities and became a beautician.

In October 1967, she married Willard Farnick and the couple made their home in Monticello, Minnesota.

Marjorie worked in the nursing home in Monticello and eventually opened a beauty salon in her home. Later on, she was involved with family members in running a Health Food Store.

Marjorie and Willard began wintering in the South in the late 1990’s and in the early 2000’s they purchased a home in Casa Grande, Arizona. Following Willard’s death in 2011, Marjorie continued living in Casa Grande until moving to St. Cloud, Minnesota in 2022. In June 2025, she became a resident of Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany.

Marjorie enjoyed crafts, making quilts and blankets, square dancing, painting and loved camping and fishing.

Marjorie died Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. She was 85 years old.

She is survived by her children, Cherrie (Gilbert) Abfalter of St. Cloud and Bradley (Cynthia) Farnick of St. Cloud; stepchildren, Daniel (Julie) Farnick of Monticello, Jeffrey (Sandy) Farnick of Monticello and Tammy Farnick Sutton of Monticello; sister, Diane (Larry) Klatt of Clearwater, MN; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helmer and Fern; husband, Willard Farnick; son, Brian Antill; daughter, Mary Beth Gay; granddaughter, Ashley Rae Abfalter; siblings, Hollis Kolden, Duane Kolden, Wilfred Kolden, Russell Kolden, JoAnn Kolden and grandmother, Magna Kolden.
