Memorial services will be hosted by the family of Mark Dilly of Morris, MN on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at East Side Park in Morris, MN.
Mark passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 1, 2022; he was 59 years old.
Mark Anthony Dilly was born to Sharon (Boyle) and Alan “John” Dilly on April 15, 1963 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up the eldest of three children and graduated high school from Herman, Minnesota.
As a child, Mark was always known to be big-hearted. He loved spending time with his dad in the garden, until his tragic passing when Mark was only nine years old. His dad’s passing left a deep impression on Mark, giving him a unique compassion for anyone in need. He spent many years advocating for mental health awareness as well as volunteering at the humane society and Someplace Safe, where he also served on the board.
Mark was a caretaker, he loved serving people in many capacities. Mark first became a licensed practical nurse through North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, and later, a chef. He enjoyed moving and exploring new places and would call Fargo, California, and Oregon “home” before finally settling down in Morris.
Mark deeply loved his family and was unapologetic about how proud of them he was. Always known as the family historian, Mark had an uncanny memory for birthdays and dates. He was a self-proclaimed “old hippie” and a lover of flowers and cats, especially Boe and Sunshine, and will be missed by not only his family, but so many in the community.
Left to cherish Mark’s memory are his brother, Wayne (Magen) Dilly of Shakopee, MN; sister, Brenda (Matt) Engelking of Sauk Rapids, MN; niece, Heather (Adam) Fahje; nephew, Allyn (Sabrina) Dilly, as well as many aunts, uncles, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sharon and Johnny Dilly.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in care of arrangements for Mark.
