Robert William Dierks, son of Gerhardt and Opal (Hendrickson) Dierks was born on September 12, 1932 in Flandreau, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. In 1987, the couple moved into Chokio. Yvonne passed away on March 14, 2011. Bob continued to live in Chokio and actively farmed until the time of his death.
