Roger Larson

Funeral services for Roger Larson will be on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus.  A visitation will be on Monday, October 30 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church.  Burial will be at the Cyrus South Cemetery in Cyrus.

Roger Allen Larson was born on May 16, 1948, to Lloyd and Esther (Mickelson) Larson in Starbuck, Minnesota.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Cyrus Lutheran Church.  Roger attended school and graduated from the Cyrus High School with the class of 1966.  After his graduation, he began farming with his Dad.  He was the fourth generation to be on the family farm.  On June 7, 1969, Roger was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Rose Engler.  Shortly after their marriage, they bought Roger’s family farm where they welcomed one son, Chadwick.  In addition to farming, Roger worked for Engebretson Disposal for 32 years.  Roger continued to farm until his death.

Roger was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus.  He was a long-time member and leader in 4-H, and was also active in FFA.  Roger had a passion for farming; he had farming in his blood.  Roger also enjoyed fishing, gardening, landscaping and collecting toy tractors.  He and Rose loved to travel; they took several cruises to warm destinations, including: Jamaica, Belize, Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta, to name a few.  They also enjoyed their many trips to Las Vegas.

Roger died on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  He lived to reach the age of 69 years.

Roger is survived by his wife, Rose Larson of Cyrus; son, Chadwick (Theresa) Larson of Cyrus; brother, DeWayne Larson of Cyrus; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Esther; brother, Darrell; and parents-in-law, Edwin and Violet Engler.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charges of arrangements.
