Starbuck, MN

A visitation for Scott Aaberg of Starbuck, MN will be held Friday, September 18, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service and time of sharing at 6:30 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck.

Scott John Aaberg was born on July 11, 1972 to Steven and Leona Aaberg. Scott grew up in Soderville, Minnesota where he attended McKinley Elementary School, Roosevelt Junior High and Blaine Senior High. Scott played baseball through junior high and was very active in Boy Scouts.

Scott was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in East Bethel Minnesota.

Scott had two beautiful children, Tanner and Kiera. He was so proud of Tanner as he pursued a career in the medical field and served in our military. He often referred to Kiera as his “Little Princess” or his “Little Girl” and was overjoyed at the young women she has become.

Scott had a love for cooking, he was a long time cook in restaurants. He loved making recipes his own, often adding ingredients you would not expect.

Scott also had a heart for his Lord. He believed that there was only One Way and that was through Jesus. He also believed that there was good in all people and second chances are a gift from God.

Scott met Darlene Lundquist and was immediately smitten. She understood Scott and what made him the man he was. They moved to Starbuck to be closer to Scott’s dad and help care for him.

The last few months of his life, Scott battled cancer. He made it through Chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Scott’s body just never recovered and eventually wore out.

Scott is survived by his spiritual wife Darlene Lundquist, father Steven Aaberg, sisters Stephanie (Bill) Piette, Sandra Jones, his children Tanner Aaberg and Kiera Gray, Granddaughter Paisley and Grace Gray. Preceded in death by his mother Leona Aaberg and grandparents Sanford and Ella Aaberg, Leon and Elsie Magnan.

Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in care of the arrangements for Scott.
