Thomas “TC” Carrington was born on April 18, 1943 in Graceville MN. He is the son of Florence (Ehrnst) and Lawrence Carrington. Thomas graduated from Graceville High School in 1961. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1963. He did his basic training at Cherry Point NC and was stationed in Japan after that. He was very proud of his service in the Marines. After he was discharged from the Marines, he attended the University of MN Morris. Thomas always loved driving truck – his motto was “Keep on Truckin”. He drove redi mix truck for 30 years for Concrete of Morris Inc (CMI) later JME of Monticello until retiring in 2005. Tom was a professional and made it a priority to meet the expectations of the construction crew. He was often requested by many contractors. He was proud of his Mack truck #25 and was very proud of the many miles and yards that he put on that truck. He often mentioned when he was driving around the Morris area all the footings and foundations he poured. He had many dear friends from his CMI days and would still get together with them on a regular basis to reminisce about the good old days.
On August 3, 1968, he was united in marriage to Laura Stock. They had two children - Anna Rose and Matthew Thomas. Tom cherished his family and never missed an event for children and grandchildren. He and Laura traveled to all events that they could in TC’s decked out 1992 GMC Sierra. He put over 400,000 miles on that truck. They took many trips, usually with their dear grandchildren, with them to visit family, hunt for antiques, explore the country and just spend time together. They were together all the time and when Laura passed away in 2014, he traveled with his kids to sporting events and family activities. He cherished his morning coffee at DeToy’s catching up with everyone. He had many dear friends there.
Tom was the life of the party, loved to dance and get everyone else dancing as well.
He always had his dancing boots on. He loved spending time with family, playing cards, playing sports and just hanging out. He was always happy and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
