Funeral services for Gerry Dullum of Starbuck, Minnesota will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Minnewaska Lutheran Church in Starbuck, with Reverend Joel Rolf officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Minnewaska Lutheran Church. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
On March 22, 1951, Perry and Helen (Blomquist) Dullum of Starbuck, Minnesota had a son, Gerry Dennis Dullum. Perry would forever have someone to celebrate his birthday with every year! Gerry attended Starbuck elementary and later graduated from Starbuck High School in 1970. After high school Gerry attended Alexandria Technical College and graduated with a degree in carpentry. Gerry worked his career self employed as a carpenter in the Starbuck area.
When Gerry was not busy building, he loved to spend time on Lake Minnewaska whether it be sitting watching the lake activity or catching the occasional fish. He was an avid golfer at area courses enjoying the outdoor activity and comradery with friends and family. In the evenings or at weddings, Gerry was more than willing to take the arm of someone and dance the night away. He enjoying multiple genres of music and dance moves. He traveled for work and vacation, often to Florida enjoying the warm weather. He had a love of animals, especially his cat, Jessica, who would sit by his side at home. Gerry was a respectful soul whom was always willing to offer a helping hand to friends and family. He had a funny sense of humor offering a smile and joke whenever able. His sense of humor and gentle soul will be deeply missed.
Gerry passed away peacefully at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, after a brief illness, on Friday, January 24, 2020. He was 68 years old.
He is survived by his siblings, Don (Helen A.) Dullum, Patty (Lyle) Knutson, Kathy Kelly and Candice (Kenny Zupan) Crawford; kitty cat, Jessica; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Helen Dullum; nephew, Craig Dullum; and great niece, Alexa Dullum.
