Greg 'Rusty' Kirk

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Greg 'Rusty' Kirk, of Morris, Minnesota, formerly of Springfield, Missouri, will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at their home, 43605 150th Street, Morris, MN.

Greg “Rusty” Alan Kirk, son of Frederic Dale and Margaret Lillian (Pering) Kirk, was born September 18, 1952 in San Francisco, California. He graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1970 and went on to attend two years of college at Missouri State University.

After being set up on a blind date to play bridge with Corinne Marie Sinclair, Rusty met his match and the two were married May 8, 1982. In 2001 the couple moved to Morris where Rusty worked and retired from his job with Cenex and Corrine recently celebrated her 20-year anniversary at the hospital.

To everyone, Rusty was known as a happy person. His kind nature was felt by animals as they all seemed to love and gravitate toward him, especially his horses. When he wasn’t hunting, fishing, or spending time with the local republican party, Rusty loved to cook and play games, which he rarely lost. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

Rusty died on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, Minnesota.  He was 68 years old.

Rusty is survived by his wife, Corinne; sisters: Carol (Gerry) Teicher of St. Louis, MO, Janet Kirk of Shell Knob, MO, Dana (Merl) Haubein of Shell Knob, MO; best friend, Evan Varga of Morris, MN; lifelong friend, Kelly Reynolds of Kansas City, KS; nieces: Amanda (Greg) Lewis, Stephanie Larsen, Stacy Kadaroo, Tiffany “Tippy” Bergman; nephews, Kirk Haubein, Dale Haubein, J.R Haubein. Rusty is also survived by his sisters-in-law, their husbands, as well as several other beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Dale and Lillian Kirk.
