Funeral services for Greta Mogler of Morris, MN will be Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Federated Church in Morris, with Reverend Dell Sanderson officiating. Visitation will be Monday form 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Greta Ann DeLong, daughter of Ben and Della (Kruize) DeLong, was born April 22, 1929 in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. At a young age Greta’s family moved to a farm north of Morris, where she attended Country School through the 8th grade. Following her schooling, she worked at West Central School of Agriculture in Food Service. On January 7, 1949, she was united in marriage to Richard Mogler in Morris. The couple made their home in Morris, where Greta was a stay at home mom and also did daycare for several years. Later in life, she worked at the Sunwood Inn as a housekeeper.  Greta continued to live in Morris, until the time of her death.

Greta was a member of Federated Church in Morris where she was involved with Women’s Fellowship, This and That sale, Quilters, and the Funeral Committee.  She was also a member of the V.F.W. and Morris American Legion Auxiliaries.  Greta volunteered at Stevens County Food Shelf and the Senior Citizen Center.  She loved crocheting, camping, baking, gardening, bird watching, afternoon tea, watching Fun Time Polka on Saturday afternoons, listening to old-time music on KMRS and spending time with her family and friends.  Greta was an avid MN Twins fan and enjoyed watching the games with her great grandson. Greta had a very kind heart and believed in fairness, respecting and treating everyone equally.

Greta died on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at St. Anthony Health Care in St. Anthony, MN. She was 90 years old.

She is survived by four children: Carol Norgaard of Minneapolis, Marilyn (Lee) Gilbertson of Minneapolis, Jim Mogler of Marathon, FL and Mike Mogler (Dixie Benslay) of Hancock; daughter-in-law: Trish Mogler of Albuquerque, NM; one sister: Darlene Loose of Appleton; two sisters-in-law: Vonna DeLong and Norma DeLong both of Alexandria; ten grandchildren: Scott, Jason, Paul, Karla, Meghan, Eric, Sarah, Liza, Darek and Christi; five step-grandchildren: Tim, Phil, Lexi, Shaina and Heidi; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Mogler; infant son: Robert Mogler; son: Richard Mogler; her parents; two great-grandchildren: Cassandra Mogler and Morgan Mogler; siblings: Johnny, Elsie, Benny, Eddie, Richard and Robert and her beloved dog: Peeker.

I n lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Federated Church or charity of your choice.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
