A private family funeral service for Lorraine will be held.  Rev. Reed Stockman will be officiating and burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.

Lorraine Lois (Hamann) Meichsner was born on August 23, 1926 on her parents’ farm in Tara Township, Swift County, Minnesota, to parents William and Elfrieda (Schliep) Hamann. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairfield Township, MN. Lorraine attended country school at District 99, rural Holloway, MN and high school in Holloway, MN. On November 7, 1944, Lorraine married Raymond Meichsner. This marriage was blessed with more than 64 years of marriage and four children:  Earl, Susan, Keith and Dean.

Lorraine and Ray lived in Hancock most of their married life where she was active in her church, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hancock.  She taught Sunday School and was active in Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Hancock Homemakers group and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and working in her flowers.  In the spring of 2007, Ray and Lorraine moved to Skyview Plaza in Morris.  After Ray’s death in 2008; Lorraine became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Morris. She was active in LWML and volunteered many hours at Zion.  Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her friends at Skyview.

Lorraine died on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the Courage Cottage in Morris, MN. She was 94 years old.

She is survived by her children, Earl (Marcia) Meichsner of Albertville, MN, Susan (John) Olson of Minnetonka, MN, Keith (Linda) Meichsner of Alexandria, MN and Dean (Rita) Meichsner of Morris, MN; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren;  sister, Angela Hoffman of Wheaton, MN; sister-in-law, Carol Hamann of Appleton, MN and brother-in-law, James Meichsner of Sauk Rapids, MN.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, her parents William and Elfrieda Hamann; brother, Dale Hamann; sister, Clarice Stock; granddaughter, Lisa Baker and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Courage Cottage in Morris and Zion Technology Fund in Morris.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
