Funeral services for Marjorie Lerdahl of Morris, formerly of Cyrus, Minnesota, will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Burial will be at St. Petri Cemetery in Cyrus.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings of up to 250 people. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. For those who prefer or require continued precautions, webcasting and/or livestreaming is available in most situations.

Marjorie Ethel Burnett, daughter of Zachriah and Dora (McClain) Burnett, was born December 25, 1919 in Adelphi, Iowa.  When Marjorie was five years old, her family made their home on a farm near Alberta, Minnesota. She was baptized at Federated Church in Morris and confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Cyrus.  Margie attended District 58 country school and graduated from Alberta High School in 1938.  She was united in marriage to Carsten Lerdahl October 23, 1944 in Horton Township.  Margie worked at the Morris Hospital and Stevens Community Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She also worked as a dentist assistant in Morris.  Margie and Carsten made their home on a farm near Cyrus.  Carsten passed away on July 9, 1995. Margie continued to live on the farm until October 23, 2017, when she moved to Courage Cottage in Morris.

Marjorie was a member of St. Petri Church and Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus.  She was a member of Ladies Aide and taught Sunday School.  She enjoyed Gardening and needlepoint.

Marjorie passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the Courage Cottage in Morris.  She was 100 years old.

She is survived by two sons: Carsten “Skip” (Nita) Lerdahl of Clear Lake and Michael Lerdahl of Anchorage, AK; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Koenig, Christine (Tony) Cayko, Brian (Jessica) Lerdahl, and Mark (Jen) Lerdahl; and six great-grandchildren, Braden, Colton, John, Alex, Brinley, Clayton.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Carsten; her parents; sister: Mildred Larson, and brother: James Burnett.
