Funeral services for Reuben Koehl of Morris, MN will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Faith Church, rural Hancock. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Reuben Koehl was born on August 27, 1923, the third of four children born to Henry and Mary (Sommer) Koehl on the family farm in Darnen Township, Stevens County, Minnesota.  Reuben was raised in Darnen Township and received his education through the 8th grade at District #12 Country School.  Following his education, Reuben continued to farm with his family.  He was baptized at Jake Nohl’s farm place, and became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in August of 1949.  In 1982, Reuben built a new home, one half mile south of the family farm.  In 1988, He retired from crop farming, still raising cattle until 2000, when he sold his last herd and retired.  He continued to live at his farm until January of 2021, when he became a resident at the Courage Cottage in Morris where he lived until his death.

Reuben was a member of the Apostolic Christian Faith Church.  In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, trapping, and fishing with his nephews.  Reuben loved the outdoors, especially when he could be walking, gardening, farming, and raising his cattle.  Reuben loved visiting, especially with his nieces and nephews.  He cherished the time that he was also able to spend with his grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Reuben died on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the Courage Cottage in Morris; he was 98 years old.

Reuben is survived by his nieces & nephews: Keith (Coleen) Koehl, Cheryl (David) Nohl, Wayne (Mary) Koehl, Roy (Jenell) Koehl, James (Hildegard) Koehl, all of Morris, Mary (Kent) Mogler of Mendota Heights and Ruth (Shane) Jones of Morris; 20 grand nieces and nephews; and 42 great-grand nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Ernest, Eunice, and Jonah; sister-in-law, Gladys; grandnephew, Stefan Koehl; and great-grandniece, Lena Mogler.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in care of the arrangements for Reuben.
